4 years ago today......

I married my best friend.

Everything about our wedding was perfect and was such a reflection of who we are as a couple!!

I didn't see Jason until I walked down the aisle that day and it was perfect.

We were surrounded by our best friends and family as we confessed our love and commitment to one another.

Jason wore custom made Homer Simpson cuff links I bought him and my mom and Aunt's made my bouquet, complete with a K charm.

From leaving the ceremony with bubbles being released from the ceiling and the finale of Star Wars playing.

To walking in the reception to the Indiana Jones theme.

All the decorations at the reception were DIY. The centerpieces on the tables were pictures of us growing up and everyone loved walking around looking at the pics.

The food was wonderful, the bar stocked with signature drinks of our choice, and in lieu of a cake we had cupcakes...and they were a huge hit...and delish!!!

Our first dance was a tad unconventional- we danced to Jas's idol...Elvis...."a little less conversation". We surprised everyone except my bridesmaids (who helped us rehearse) and everyone got a glimpse of my PINK shoes.

All in all, it was a perfect day. A real dream come true. Here we are, 4 years later...expecting baby #3 any minute, 2 handsome boys and so pleased with how God has blessed our life and the road He's taken us on.

How sweet it is!!!

Thank you Jason. I love you so very much and am so thankful for these last 4 years together.

You've made me a wife and mother and given me the life I've always dreamed of!!

Waiting...

No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; He'll never let you be pushed past your limit; He'll always be there to help you through it.

1 Corinthians 10:13
the Message

I'm having trouble sleeping so I decided to write some verses down to be able to focus on during labor. I'm trying to be patient and remember that this is all in God's time. I'm trying not to evaluate every little pain and twitch...because it is making me crazy!! And I keep reminding myself that every day the baby stays inside me is a good day for the baby!

We continue to pray for the baby's wellbeing and safety with the fluid and the cord. Each day I wake up wondering if today will be my baby's birthday...we shall see!!

36 1/2 week update

Sorry to have not updated for a while....things have been slow (and a little painful). Everything is ok...baby looks great on all sides. I've been having contractions for about a week.... I guess it's prodromal (or false) labor. But the contractions are real. I've been to L&D twice and I'm having my weekly NST exams in the office. I'm only dilated to 2cm and holding tight there. It's hard because the contractions hurt but aren't doing anything.

The good thing is that the end is in site......we have an induction scheduled for Oct 6th....but my doc doesn't think I'll get that far. She honestly thinks my water will break any time. (which makes me nervous because I'm carrying too much fluid still and worry about cord issues). She said when it breaks....get on the road to the hospital....then call!!!! Yikes!!!

So I'm being patient (trying anyway). Not working, exhausted, not sleeping, trying to get things done in the little spurts that I feel well. Jas is working when he can. We have all kinds of back up plans for getting people here to watch the boys so we can get to the hospital.

We'd still appreciate prayers. Even though I'm still a little early, my OB is confident that the baby looks ready!! I'm right in between where I delivered Max and Jake right now. My body doesn't tolerate the end of pregnancy well.....I'm ready for this baby to get here!!!!

33 1/2 week update

I had my appt yesterday with my ob and she did an ultrasound as to why I'm measuring ahead. First things first- baby looks great and is extremely active (not news to me- I can see my belly move from the outside!!). I'm feeling lots of activity and movement too- almost makes me sick. Well- the reason for this is I have lots of fluid. I guess normal pockets of fluid measure 3-4 cm on u/s and I'm measuring 6-7 in areas!! Baby has lots of room to move and I feel every little bit of it! She checked for all the reasons for excess fluid that could be bad for me and baby- but they all look good. Kidneys working good. Swallowing looks good. No leaks in spinal area. Baby even looked like it was "practicing breathing" and Jas swears he saw the ribcage expand!!
So here's where we are now as I understand it...
My cramping and pain are normal because I'm carrying bigger- body stretching, belly heavier etc.
It also makes sense that people say I look like I'm "about to pop" because I am measuring big!!
As long as baby keeps moving we're good. I call if I haven't felt movement in 2 hours.
I'm still working as of now (which I'm ok with- can't afford to be off yet if labor isn't immediate).
Her concern is this: more space for baby to move- more chance of cord issues (which is why I have to be diligent about movement). I'm on weekly appts now with cervical checks and non stress tests. Its making sense to me that once I start to progress in actual labor we'll take action because prolonging that process puts the baby under potential cord danger.
We're praying that I am aware of movement and can keep a good eye on things. We hope I can get a few more weeks of work in. Chances are I won't make it to my October due date- (10/17- who really thought that would happen?) but I may not make it to October! We'll see. And we're praying when labor actually starts its swifts and all progresses the way it should and the cord stays away from the baby's head/neck. The weekly checks help put my mind at ease. Its a lot of pressure to stay so aware and not worry, lose track of movement time, and not stress about the cord (I'm honestly so terrified of that!!)!

We'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

On the homefront Max talks more about the baby and seems very excited! Jake has no awareness (much like Max last time). He's just so busy following around big brother and they have a ball playing together! We're so excited to have our family grow again and see how our lives change!!
